As project managers, one of our first tasks was to bring the building, which was not originally designed to Marriott’s specifications, up to hotel standards. The project already had a building permit that needed to be amended. After reviewing the plans, hotel codes and legal requirements, it became clear that an amended building permit, which represented a significant improvement, would not be available in time.
The project was implemented after a careful tendering process involving several general contractors, always keeping in mind the owner’s expectations. Great emphasis was also placed on optimising costs and operational efficiency. In the end, without having to change the permit, we managed to get away with one level of underground parking instead of two.
Significant cost and time savings. We consider this approach to ownership and exceeding client expectations to be fundamental to all our projects.
